Cider Spice Bags For Hot Mulled Cider

Last updated on December 9, 2015 by Liza Hawkins

In the afternoons I’m often looking for something other than my usually water to drink.

I’ve had enough coffee earlier in the day, and I want a little something with flavor to keep things chugging along. A pick-me-up, if you will, without loads of caffeine.

Sometimes it’s a mug of hot cocoa, other times it’s hot tea.

Thanks to Kauffman’s Fruit Farm & Market, I got my hands on a box of their Cider Spice Bags for Hot Mulled Cider. Unlike other loose mulled spices that’re meant to steep in a large pot, these are contained in little tea bags!

They’re perfect for a single serving of mulled cider, brewed just like you would a mug of tea, except you use apple juice, apple cider, or some other fun juice—like cranberry!—as your liquid.

Sure, you can make a larger pot of mulled cider or other juices using these bags (directions are on the box) if you have more than just yourself looking for a festive, hot beverage.

I, for one, love the ability to brew a single cupful whenever I want, without the hassle of pulling my own spices together and fussing with a tea strainer or cheesecloth.
