Rich Chocolate Mocha Pudding
This rich chocolate mocha pudding uses coffee to turn an already decadent dessert into something even more special! I love the opportunity to try and take a great recipe, tweak it, and make it even better. Or … at least … just as good. A few years ago, I Pinned a chocolate pudding recipe from smitten kitchen that she adapted from a chef’s blog. I mean, how could you not stare at Deb’s endless photos and not want to make the recipe yourself (or at least wish she was around the corner so you could become friends and enjoy her spoils)? Right. Here’s my take on it. Rich Chocolate Mocha Pudding Chocolate…
Thin Mints Brownies
These homemade Thin Mints brownies are simple to make and loaded with rich, dark chocolate fudgy flavor. Browse your Pinterest feed on any given day and you’ll find an endless stream of dessert masterpieces to behold. Cakes complete with a zillion perfectly spaced layers (including the width of homemade, creamy, mouthwatering buttercream frosting), fondant masterpieces, and sculpture work indicative of a university degree in fine art. I’m not crafty. Not even in the kitchen with food projects. The thought of spending copious amounts of time on tedious projects involving little bits of anything makes me want to snarl. Not that I haven’t tried my hand at a project or two; I’ll…
Cranberry Chocolate Cereal Squares
Cranberry chocolate cereal squares are a perfect quick and tasty breakfast option for a busy morning, or a “just the right amount of sweet” late night snack before bed (crumbled atop vanilla ice cream—yum!). This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. I’ll never deny that I’m a cereal lover. Some days I’ll eat it for all three meals—yes, just like Jerry Seinfeld. There are so many reasons why a bowl of cereal’s my go-to “can’t think of anything else” meal, but the main reason is this: convenience. My mornings, I’m certain, are no crazier than yours. We all have a laundry…
Easy 10 Minute S’mores for a Summer Party
Late spring and early summer have some of the best weather — the perfect setting for a summer party with good friends and these easy S’mores made right in the campfire or your oven! When we lived in Maryland, our house was on a few acres of land, peppered with really tall black walnut trees. At dusk, the fireflies come out in droves, lighting up the grassy slope beyond our backyard, flashing their glowing lights in-between the lengthy trunks. The thing is though, making a ton of S’mores for a summer party can be tricky, especially when you’re outside and it’s dark. I’ve found an alternative way to make ooey-gooey…
Chocolate Chip Cookies Made With Coconut Oil
Nothing will ever replace a classic chocolate chip cookie made with butter, but I will say this: chocolate chip cookies made with coconut oil have now moved in my top three chocolate chip cookie recipe adaptations. Yes, my foodie friends. They are that tasty. Yesterday I realized the cookie jar was empty, and since whether it’s full or not mostly depends on me and my cookie baking, I figured I better whip up a batch. Flour: check. Salt: check Baking soda: check. Egg: check. Brown sugar: check. Butter: half a stick … Oh no. Granulated sugar: a tablespoon … None. Wait, what? How does this happen? My minor freak-out lasted only…
Vegan Chocolate Pudding
This thick and creamy vegan chocolate pudding takes about five minutes to make, and it’s sooooo rich and satisfying! One benefit of being a food blogger is getting to know all the other amazing food bloggers on the planet. One of them, The Wicked Noodle, has a recipe on their site called Homemade Chocolate Pudding that comes together in a matter of minutes. Minutes! They go on to say: I haven’t bought the boxed stuff in years but I do still love good chocolate pudding. These days I’ll make it but use a fancy recipe and call it “Chocolate Pots de Creme” with only very high-quality ingredients. But then there…
Gooey Chocolate-Filled Cocoa Cookies
Gooey chocolate-filled cocoa cookies are all the richness of a brownie, with the oozy-ness of a molten lava cake. What’s better than double chocolate chip cookies? Why … gooey chocolate-filled cocoa cookies, of course! On the outside, they’re completely unassuming. Regular, everyday, round chocolate disks. Nothin’ special. But then… Then you take a bite, and what’s inside separates this cookie from its chocolate cake-like counterparts. We’re talking gooey chocolate filled cocoa cookies here, people! The richness of a brownie, with the oozy-ness of a molten lava cake. It’s something special. Perhaps only bested by an oozy caramel center, but we’ll leave that for another day. GOOEY CHOCOLATE-FILLED COCOA COOKIES. I’ll take…
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Homemade cookies are so incredibly delectable…especially warm right out of the oven. Every weekend I make cookies. It takes less than 30 minutes to whip up the ingredients and then bake them off, so I feel like that’s time well spent on my part. Let’s face it, we’re all crazy-busy and time is valuable – thirty minutes is a good chunk to part with! Plus? COOKIE DOUGH. This weekend I let my five year old decide which cookies we’d be having this week. Chocolate chip cookies. With chocolate cookies. In grown-up speak I take this to mean double chocolate chip cookies. And, ABSOLUTELY. Only 10 ingredients, all of which you can pronounce…
