• Food Challenge: POM Party (cont.)

    The clock is ticking and my POM Party is a mere two days away! One of the last things I have planned, but not picked, is a pomegranate drink. A couple weeks ago, I asked you to provide me with some cool ideas for pomegranate drinks – either alcoholic or not. Now it’s time for the poll!     The other day a friend of mine said, “If you’ve never tried the pizza at Olives, then you’re missing out. Their pizza rocks!”  So, on Saturday, my sister and I decided to try it out – and yes, it was awesome. Tomato, Basil, Fresh Mozzarella This 10″ round of hand-tossed gooey deliciousness melted in our mouths, with fresh doughy crust – crispy on the outside as though it was wood-fired. I’m so glad the leftovers made it into MY fridge last night. Lunch leftovers are sounding pretty good….   • Out and About: Brewer’s Alley

Just as I finished my first sip of wine (I know, wine at a brewery, blah-blah-blah), the bartender called everyone’s attention as the head brewer, Maggie Lenz, stepped out onto the floor. She unveiled the Great Frederick Fair 2009 Homebrew competition Best of Show winner – BROWN ALE. And as winner, this homebrewer gets his beer brewed for the next month on site at Brewer’s Alley.
