Cobbler
Easy Strawberry Cobbler
Cobbler is one of my favorite desserts to make, and easy strawberry cobbler may very well be the best summer desserts ever. The strawberries in my parents’ garden produces a couple pints of ripe berries a day early in summer. And if the dozens of photos in my feeds were any indication, local “pick your own” farms having been yielding a similar robust crop of strawberries in recent seasons! Whether it’s because of a CSA delivery, a garden that’s gone crazy, or spectacular deal at the farmers’ market, having an abundance of any type of produce can be overwhelming. Especially with berries. One day they’re picture perfect, and the next day they’ve suddenly…
Blueberry Cobbler
Blueberries! Blueberry cobbler — and this blueberry cobbler, specifically — is the best dessert! It’s the time of year when we have lots of them thanks to garden bushes, farmers’ markets and, when I lived in Maryland, a great little farm stand nearby. I typically end up having enough to keep some in the fridge for cereal and yogurt toppings, and also to grab by the handful for easy snacks. (And plenty left over for things like blueberry cobbler.) B L U E B E R R Y C O B B L E R! Cobbler, as you well know, is one of my favorite desserts to make. I’ve made…
Caramel Apple Cobbler
Caramel apple cobbler is a simple and delicious alternative to traditional apple pie. It’s a perfect fall dessert! Yum! Combine windows open, temps barely reaching seventy degrees and a Sunday with nothing much planned, and I end up with wild ideas for how to use up ingredients in my fridge. Like a whole bag of apples. Pie is always a safe alternative with apples, but I don’t usually like to make my own crust since pre-made crust is just as good (if not better), and I didn’t think to keep any refrigerated dough on hand. Crumble? Meh. I could, but the idea wasn’t quite hitting the spot. My thoughts drifted…
Peach, Blueberry and Blackberry Cobbler Bites
These cobbler bites are a mini version of my traditional cobbler recipe—YUM! Occasionally I have flashes of foodie brilliance. The other day I had an assortment of leftover fruits, including a half-pint of blueberries that were about twelve hours from molding—just on the brink. Like, go to sleep and the blueberries are fine, wake up in the morning and they’re moldy. Don’t you hate that? And, so with a “girls’ night in” later that evening I came up with the brilliant (there’s that word again) idea of making cobbler bites. Bite-sized miniature rounds of ooey-gooey cobbler goodness. Sounds delish, right? I thought so too. But … there was a problem.…
Peach Blackberry Cobbler
This simple peach blackberry cobbler will melt in your mouth — better make a double batch! In the early 2000s, I was living in Savannah, Ga., just out of college and newly single. Now living completely on my own, and in a new town, I met friends that helped me build a fresh and exciting life … and I discovered a new cable channel called Food Network. I believe it was at this point that my love for food, cooking, eating out, etc., really started to blossom. While living in Savannah, I picked up a cookbook called Savannah Style, published by Junior League of Savannah, which featured recipes created and tested…
