Musings: Apple Peels

Last updated on March 21, 2011 by Liza Hawkins

While peeling a bunch of apples for a recipe yesterday, I discovered that I have an slight obsession for removing the peels all in one quick, long, continuous strip.

That’s all; just a simple thought for the start to the week. Happy Monday!

  1. I am completely incapable of peeling apples like that!

On a slightly tangental note- do you ever stick the peels in a pot with cinnamon and a little water and just let it simmer on the stove and make the whole house super yummy smelling?

  2. Alex – it’s funny you ask. I HAVE done that, but I’ve never been able to get it fragrant enough. Maybe cinnamon sticks, or something else? What are your tricks?
