What’s That In My Diced Tomatoes??

Last updated on August 11, 2011 by Liza Hawkins

The other day I drained a can of Del Monte petite diced tomatoes in the sink. Seems rather benign, right?
Something caught my eye in the colander. A speck of black in a sea of red…a shape that didn’t quite look tomato-like, and possible not even made of organic matter (as in man-made versus nature-made).

Hubs thinks it’s a piece of tomato, swears he could see seeds. But, I’m skeptical.

Looks a little like a torn piece of rubber, right?
I dunno….
