Hello (a)Musing Foodie readers! My name is Beau from lunchboxdad.com and I was honored to be asked to guest post for Liza.
I make fun bento lunches for my daughter to take to school every Monday.
I try to make them as healthy as I can and have her still actually eat them—feeding kids is an experiment to say the least and my kids are no exception.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But, even though it can be frustrating, I try and get them to eat healthy and have the courage to eat new things.
This lunch project for my daughter has been a fun challenge!
By being presented with healthy food options, made in a creative way, it has helped her to try new things and even like some food she never would have eaten otherwise.
It has also brought us closer as she has been in school.
Today I wanted to share the My Little Pony Pinkie Pie lunch. It looks intimidating but with a little extra time, you can also make it.
What I have found is that your kids don’t need it to be perfect, they just feel special when they know you put the effort in!
This also has one of the weirdest and coolest recipes I have seen for something called perpetual goat stoppers. They are the round, colorful balls you see in the corner.
It is just a grape covered in chevre goat cheese, and rolled in crushed fruity pebbles and candied ginger. My kids go nuts for these! Perpetual Goat Stoppers is an award-winning recipe, and you can find out more it about here.
Thanks for reading and if you ever have any questions about making food fun for your kids, please email me or hit me up on Facebook or Twitter. I would love to help!
