Herb Gardens for Small Kitchens
There are lots of ways to maximize even the tiniest of spaces to make room for herb gardens in small kitchens, a deck, or even the outside wall. This time every year I start to think about my garden—or lack thereof. You see, while I appreciate fresh, local ingredients, I’m just not that great at growing them myself. The green thumb of the family? Not me. The green thumbs belong to my parents (they have a small homestead, which includes lots of produce and a flock of free-range chickens), and my sister (who started Truffula Seed Produce a few years ago, and then created and ran The Community Farm at Sandy…

20 Flower Place Mats for Spring
I was up at 5:40 this morning. Actually, it was 5:36 a.m. – at that time of day, every minute counts. My 3-year old’s been waking up between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. every day since last fall when the clocks “fell back.” I never had this problem with my older daughter, and I kept telling myself, “His natural sleep pattern will work itself eventually.” No. No it didn’t. It NEVER did. So, when he squawked at 5:36 a.m., which is just four minutes away from when my alarm goes off for the first time, and just 13 minutes shy of when my alarm goes off for the second time…
(a)Musing Foodie Is on Houzz.com
Come find kitchen inspiration with (a)Musing Foodie over on Houzz.com! I’m compensated by Houzz for the Ideabooks I create. Late last year I was approached by Houzz.com to create a monthly Ideabook centered around kitchen-related items, being that I’m, well, a foodie. I’ll admit, at first I was all, “What’s Houzz? And do I really need to add one more thing to my plate?” Thank goodness my answer was, “Yes,” because now three months later, creating my monthly Ideabook is something I look forward to … and often complete way in advance of the deadline. So what is Houzz.com? Well, if you’re totally obsessed with Pinterest.com like me, then you’re…
