I have a budding foodie tween on my hands, you guys. She’s on the cusp of 10 years old, and fascinated with Alton Brown’s podcasts just as much as I am (okay, maybe more than me – gah!).
I find myself both excited and reluctant about this. Having said that, I’m learning to share and embrace the fact that my daughter wants to be there too. There won’t be too many more years where she wants to hang with her mom, so savoring the time now is important. This is a good thing.
Like other tweens, my daughter is also a tech whiz. She loves Minecraft, YouTube and making silly dance videos with her friends. (Or capturing videos of me doing Just Dance with her little brother. Sigh.) Her fingers fly over my phone’s screen faster than a blender whirring on high. It’s mind boggling!
When I think about merging her foodie fascination with her love of technology as the holidays approach, my mind makes the obvious leap….
