Vertical Garden Project: Final Thoughts #DigIn

After finishing the last of my vertical garden project the other day, I took a couple minutes to sit down and vlog my thoughts.

You’ll see that overall, I give this project a thumbs up and the best part was seeing the flowers and herbs in place!

However, I definitely think the written instructions could be better improved to cater to building novices like me. I also think the material list could be reworked, taking care that all the building pieces are listed together for ease of purchase. We found that some weren’t listed in with the material list, rather they were just part of the instructions (lattice, PVC piping, weed block, etc.).

I also think there should be a list of necessary tools – level, drill, table saw, circular saw, staple gun, etc.

Next up for me? I plan to just focus on keeping the flowers and herbs in my vertical garden alive. I’d still love to create a whiskey barrel garden, so if things appear to be moving along splendidly, then I may tackle that in June or July.

Has this inspired you to start your own garden project?

  1. Great video, Liza! Love that you included some of the things to be careful about (mini-pitfalls), instead of just “how great this was!” Always good to know the good and could-be-better 🙂

    1. Overall it’s a good project for someone with some experience. A little tweaking to the directions and the materials list, and it would be easy for a beginner to run with it! Thanks, Cindy!
