American Food Holidays | December 17 – 23

It’s hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. Actually, it’s one week from today. Gah!
Aside from a couple small things still left to pick up, we’re done with gift shopping. Most years I spend hours online picking out Christmas gifts – Amazon.com, OldNavy.com, Target.com. It’s easy, and I’m able to browse from the comfort of my own couch after the kids are in bed.
But this year hubs and I decided to go a different route. Instead, I took a day off work and we spent eight hours in downtown Frederick buying our holiday gifts in the locally owned shops. To say the owners were appreciative is an understatement; they were filled with pure gratitude!
The experience was also easy, and while I wasn’t shopping from the comfort of my own couch, it’s the most relaxed time we’ve had together in a long time. If you’ve not visited downtown Frederick in a while, it’s time – especially during the holidays when everything’s decorated.
And now to the point of this post!
