It’s arguably one of the most food-filled weeks of the year. Right now; this one. A week where religion doesn’t play a part in the holiday traditions, so everyone in our country celebrates together, all at the same time. Makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, right?
My turkey’s thawing as we speak, and all the other traditional Thanksgiving sides will start to come together as the week progresses. Potatoes, oyster casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing and PIE.
Yes, “pie” deserves to be all caps for Thanksgiving.
But before we get all turkey-brained, it’s time for this week’s round-up of American Food Holidays. There’s a hint of holiday in there on Friday (and perhaps Wednesday), but otherwise not so much.
