FREDERICK, MD is a city ripe with history that dates back to the early 1700s. Its historic downtown area has gone through a 10 year revitalization that is now home to great restaurants, quaint cafes and boutique shops. Frederick is also home to Bryan Voltaggio, chef/owner of VOLT, Family Meal and LunchBox – all located in town.
There is something wonderful about peeling fruit!
I am completely incapable of peeling apples like that!
On a slightly tangental note- do you ever stick the peels in a pot with cinnamon and a little water and just let it simmer on the stove and make the whole house super yummy smelling?
Alex – it’s funny you ask. I HAVE done that, but I’ve never been able to get it fragrant enough. Maybe cinnamon sticks, or something else? What are your tricks?
